there was this particularly memorable brazilian coach we met in france. he was there in charge of one of the portuguese teams.
he wasn't ashamed to show his limited english vocabulary. and all the better for it, i think.
with exaggerated arm movements and facial expressions he proclaimed to everyone within sight his liking for the singapore sailors, "I love you! And you! And you! I love all of you! I love everybody! Everybody happy!"
i was saying that the world needed more people like him.

there was one curious instant when, walking past each other, our eyes met,and i realised i had found what i was looking for.Way off in the distance I saw the door
I tried to open
I tried forcing with all of my will and still
The door wouldn't open
Unable to trust in my faith
I turned and walked away
I looked around, felt a chill in the air
Took my will and turned it over
The glass prison which once held me is now gone
A long lost fortress
Armed only with liberty
And the key of my willingness
Fell down on my knees and prayed
Thy will be done
I turned around, saw a light shining through

the violins' violence.Voila! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
